For Agencies and Development Shops

A White-Label Engineering Partner for Agencies

SunAlgo works alongside agencies and development shops as an outside engineering team. We take on the work you cannot staff in-house, whether that is a hardware build, an AI feature, a full product, or a cloud migration, and we deliver it under your name, to your client, on your schedule.

How We Work With Agencies

Bringing an outside team into a client relationship is a risk, and we treat it that way. These are the terms we work under by default. They go into the agreement before a project starts.

Non-Solicitation

We work for you, not for your client. We will not approach your clients directly, during the engagement or after it, and that commitment is written into our agreement.

NDA and IP Assignment

Everything we produce for a project is assigned to you or to your client, including designs, code, and documentation. We do not retain rights to the work, and there are no licensing terms to untangle later.

Your Process or Ours

If you would like us inside your project management, your tools, and your standups, we will work that way. If you would rather hand a piece of work to us and receive weekly progress, we can run it ourselves and report to you.

Senior and Stable

The engineers who scope a project are the ones who build it, and they stay with it until it is done. We do not rotate people through an engagement or substitute junior staff after kickoff.

Weekly Progress Reviews

We review progress with you every week. When there is working software or hardware, we demonstrate it. When the work is schematics, board layout, or waiting on fabrication, we review the design itself, so there is never a week where you cannot tell your client where things stand.

Written Hand-Off

We document as we go, and every engagement ends with design files, scripts, and written documentation prepared for whoever inherits the work, whether that is your team or your client.

What We Can Take On

Most agencies bring us one of four kinds of work. Some hand us a single piece of a project, and others hand us the whole product. Each area below links to the work behind it.

Hardware and Prototyping

We design and build connected hardware, from the circuit board and firmware through the device software and the cloud services behind it. For many agencies this is the work they have no way to staff, and it is where we are most often brought in.

  • PCB design and layout, including rigid and flex boards
  • Microcontroller firmware, most recently on Arduino and Renesas parts, with sensor integration, calibration, and low-power operation
  • Embedded Linux on Raspberry Pi and other single-board computers, including custom Yocto device images, A/B updates with rollback, and secure onboarding
  • Android TV and kiosk device software, including camera and card-reader integration
  • Bench test rigs and hardware-in-the-loop checks on every firmware release

Applied AI and Agents

We build AI systems that do real work in production, with evaluation harnesses so their behavior can be measured, human approval where it matters, and self-hosted models when a client's data cannot leave their environment.

  • LLM agents with tool use and MCP, built to work across providers rather than locked to one
  • Evaluation and test harnesses so an agent can be measured before it is trusted
  • Computer vision and generative pipelines running on our own GPUs
  • Fine-tuning and self-hosted inference for private or cost-sensitive workloads

Full-Stack Product and Platform

We build web and mobile products and the platforms behind them, and we have carried them from a first release through the demands of enterprise customers.

  • TypeScript and Node back ends, React and Nuxt front ends, and Postgres
  • High-throughput APIs, gRPC, custom wire protocols, and authorization and identity at scale
  • Native, Flutter, or Ionic mobile apps, delivered to your or your customer's Apple and Google app store accounts
  • End-to-end test automation with Playwright
  • SOC 2 controls and the documentation that supports them

Cloud and Modernization

We migrate and modernize the systems a client's business already depends on, on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare, and we do it without interrupting the business that runs on them.

  • Modernizing legacy platforms in stages rather than through a rip-and-replace program
  • Zero-downtime migrations, with multi-zone failover designed in from the start
  • Database tuning and performance optimization on live systems
  • Cloud migration and infrastructure as code
  • Ongoing maintenance and on-call support for what we build

Ways to Engage

Work tends to arrive in one of four shapes. All of them run under the same terms described above.

Overflow Pod

Two to four senior engineers for a quarter or so, taking on the project you cannot staff without pulling people off something else.

Standing Retainer

A monthly block of hours for work that keeps arriving, such as hardware requests or AI features across several of your clients.

Fixed-Scope Build

A priced deliverable with a review schedule, for the project you would otherwise have to turn down.

Embedded Specialist

One senior engineer working inside your team and your tools for as long as the need lasts.

Hardware We Have Built

These are devices in the field today. In each case we handled the board or the firmware, the cloud services, and the update path that keeps the units running after installation.

Otto Tech Systems

Otto Tech Systems

We designed the PCB for Otto's connected safety ladder, including the flex circuit sensor feet, and wrote the production firmware on an Arduino Portenta C33: sensor calibration and self-test routines, alarm handling, cloud event upload, and power management. A bench test rig checks every release before it ships.

Volt IoT

Volt IoT

Volt IoT is our own device-fleet platform: a Yocto-based Linux device OS with a Node supervisor, A/B over-the-air updates with automatic rollback, zero-touch and claim-by-MAC onboarding, and a multi-tenant control-plane API and operator portal. We built it, and we run it.

Kwik IQ by Luxor Workspaces

We wrote the kiosk software for Kwik IQ's workspace devices, which run on Volt IoT, along with the USB peripheral integration, the AWS back end, and the remote update path that lets units in the field receive fixes without a site visit.

Hospitality set-top device

For a hospitality set-top device we built the Kotlin Android TV app, a NestJS control plane on AWS, device identity based on MAC and serial correlation, and the release-signing and update flow that keeps installed units reporting.

Brightbox

Brightbox

SunAlgo's team led engineering at Brightbox, building the on-device services, operator portals, and cloud API, automating the OS image builds, and adding Linux support for encrypting card readers across a fleet that ran on everything from 2G to gigabit links.

Manufacturing Handoff

We design every build so that it can leave our bench. When a project is ready for production, we hand off schematics and layout files, BOM and Gerbers, assembly and test notes, hardware-in-the-loop test rigs, and flash and provisioning scripts, all written so that your R&D team or a contract manufacturer can build from them.

Software We Have Built

Agent systems that do real work with a person in the loop, generative pipelines on hardware we own, and a regulated mobile and platform product that we carried through compliance.

Applied AI in production

Agent pipelines that run a business function

We run scheduled agent systems that read inbound mail, qualify and research each lead against a written rubric, draft the response materials, commit their own work to git, and report to the team's chat. A person approves every send. The same pattern runs a self-improving SEO loop that opens its own pull requests.

Generative asset pipeline on our own GPUs

For a mobile game we built an asset pipeline that handles image generation, image-to-3D reconstruction, and Blender rendering behind an authenticated gateway on our own GPU hardware, driven by agents from a cloud build machine. Long jobs run asynchronously, and nothing leaves our network.

Impairment Science

Impairment Science

We built the Druid impairment-screening product end to end for Impairment Science: the Flutter app in the Apple and Google stores, the enterprise portal and API behind it on AWS with strict per-organization data scoping, partner provisioning and webhooks, and the compliance work around it, including their SOC 2 policy set.

Who You Work With

SunAlgo is a small senior team, and we have worked this way since 2017. Every partnership is scoped by an engineer with more than a decade of experience building and scaling distributed systems, and it is delivered by the same people who scoped it. Our backgrounds include Apple, Netflix, Lucid Motors, and ADP, with work on streaming, identity, and payments systems that handle more than a billion requests a day, and running engineering for a kiosk fleet across seven countries. When a project grows beyond us, we bring in fractional specialists we have worked with before rather than staffing from a bench.

Tell Us About the Project
